 A great website design is essential in attracting more internet users to your site. With more and more visually attractive websites mushrooming these days, you might just need to review your current website design. See if it needs a make-over or some tweaking here and there. For years that I have been doing business on the internet, the way web pages look nowadays have changed a lot.
I will not discuss the time line of webpage evolution here but instead we will take a look at these good web design tips that have been proven to deliver superb results. That’s our main concern anyway. First, placing pictures or graphics to your site can enhance its appeal visually.

Do you remember those old- fashioned website design years ago? Imagine how bland they were and yet people still swarmed those sites. But of course, things evolved so fast in the World Wide Web and so now we have more funky websites packed with audio and video features. When you plan out for a website design, you must allocate a certain portion for photos that would complement the nature of your online business.
You cannot go for a pure text site or at least, try not to go for it as much as possible. You need to explore new ways of attracting more internet users and increase your site traffic. If you are in the travel business for example, you can add some tourist destination photos to enhance the experience of your target customers.
Remember that pictures can heighten one person’s imagination. So if visitors in your site are in a vacation mode and you have those great pictures on your page, these can just make them more excited to go on a vacation. But one thing though, do not stuff your site with excessive photos or flash animation unless you can ensure that the downloading time is kept at the minimum.
Too slow downloading may make potential customers navigate away from your site. Thus, keep all features (photos or videos) in moderation. Second, appropriate blending of colors is very important to come up with a good website design. If need be, you can research on the meaning of colors. This way you can align your choices to the nature of your business.
Don’t make your site look like a Christmas tree. It’s a complete turn off. Two or three color combination is good enough. Third, your heading or slogan must be visible. The moment people land in your home page, you must at least give them an idea on what your site is all about through your heading or slogan.
Don’t be afraid to play with words. This can be very effective. Stick to these basic tips and you will be off to a website design that you’d be happy to brag about.
