As a webmaster, it is important that you learn tips for web design so that you will know what are the more appropriate web page layouts. It pays to know that basics first before you even try to experiment on other creative elements to add on your page.
Basically all websites must have a header where your company’s name is placed with the possible inclusion of your logo and tag line. In here, you may explore on a certain style and design that would match the nature of your business. If you are to selling to health professionals such as doctors for example, avoid funky designs as this would send out a wrong message about your product’s reliability.
People might find it hard to believe whether your product is indeed effective or not. Remember this is the very first thing that your site visitor’s will see when they get to your page. So, make it attractive and consistent as much as possible. Another thing that you have to take into consideration when you do web page layouts is the navigation bar.
Make it simple and easy to use for your visitors. People will want to get information from your site fast that’s why the less number of clicks the better it is for them. So don’t drive away people by sticking to a simple yet efficient navigation bar. Then there’s the content area – the main arena.
This is like the deciding point where everything that is bound to happen depend on. If you have quality contents, your site has a better potential at landing to the top pages of search engines. Aside from the texts, most webmasters only consider having flash when they work on the web page layouts.
Having Flash animation can actually be an added feature on the site which can be quite entertaining for some. But keep in mind that there are also people who find it bothersome because it can distract them from reading the site’s contents. Not to mention that it takes time to download.
Maybe, this one you have to think about carefully before you finally have it as part of your web page layouts. Having profitable websites is the culmination of your hard work and persistence. Keep the basics but don’t hesitate on experimenting on some elements that you believe will contribute to a good web page design.
