There are many ways of upgrading your website to make it entertaining as well as educational. If you want visitors to come in droves and generate you income upgrading is the least you can do. There are hundreds if not thousands of websites similar to yours in the same market niche.
In order to stand out, you have to not only have a great product but also a kicking site. Video streaming is the best widget to have because of its tremendous power to attract visitors. If you’ve ever visited YouTube, that’s the reason why. To embed or upload videos to your website, you need to have few necessities.

First, you need the right tools that would enable you to upload videos to your website. An HTML editor is a must in order to embed the videos and FTP software to upload your webpage to the internet. These aren’t really that hard to find online and you can get them for free if you look hard enough.
However, if you want more capabilities than what is offered by the freeware programs just purchase one. Even with a limited budget you can still upload videos without going bankrupt. Once you have the tools, the second thing you need is the video of course. You have two options—you can either create a video yourself which means filming, editing, and finalizing it yourself, or use someone else’s (with permission of course).
Don’t ever upload videos that are not yours. If you opt to make your own, it’s really not as hard as you may think. Just because it’s a video doesn’t necessarily mean you need a video camera—what I mean is you can start off by simply showing a power-point presentation on your computer as a video.
There are programs that would take a video shot of whatever it is that is happening on your computer screen. With a microphone set-up you can even do voice over. If you want to try it out and wouldn’t mind a video limited to 5 minutes try the Jing Project at www.jingproject.com.
It’s free. Then you can create and upload videos quickly. Just bring your creativity with you. But if you have the equipment, then go create the best that you can. Just make sure that the end product is not only relevant to your niche, but also to your audience. In other words, don’t upload videos that are irrelevant.
Make it short and sweet but more importantly make the video fresh and unique. And don’t try to copy others; your motto is: originality is who you are. Remember you are selling yourself here. At the same time it will prevent other video makers from filling your inbox with nasty lawsuits and such.
Thirdly, a little technical knowledge helps you upload videos with ease, especially if you’re doing it on your own. If something goes wrong you need to at least be able to understand and do basic troubleshooting. If you need help the World Wide Web is your friend. There are people out there who have done what you’re doing and will be glad to help.
If you look for them they will come. Lastly, just have the diligence, the patience and the determination to finish everything you have planned. These three virtues are important to help you make your video streaming project a success. You will not get it right the first time, and not even on the second.
Failures and glitches will always be there, especially since you’re just a newbie. It’s a natural progression which all of us will experience. Before long you’ll be cranking out videos like a pro. So if your website looks empty, upload videos. As the saying goes: Just Do It.
