 Even though majority of internet users these days equip their computers with a spam email blocker, they still continue to receive spams from annoying entities that are promoting assorted products on the internet. Perhaps, many of you are unaware of this computer program called email harvesters a.k.a. spam bot. Many internet users who are not so well-adept with a spam bot can be victimized by online spammers.
Sometimes an anti-spam software has its flaws too especially that spammers use advance technology that could be way ahead the capacity of many anti-spam softwares. Like for example a spam bot, this is a program designed by spammers to harvest as many email addresses on the internet as they could.

Then, the addresses that they gather are kept in one database. All spams are then sent to everyone on the database that’s why almost 50% of the email traffic is caused by these spams. You have to be careful in displaying your email address online or giving it away to just any person because this spam bot is very wise at gathering email addresses.
Once it sees your address, most likely your inbox will be flooded by nuisance emails sooner or later. Surely you don’t want this to happen as much as possible especially when you are doing business on the internet. Spams can disrupt your transactions and further pose threat to your financial safety while online.
There are some ways you can do in order to avoid spam bots. You can do these simple steps in order to hide your email address from a spam bot. A very basic way is to write your address without the ‘@’ sign. Instead you can write it this way: john (at) webpage (dot) com.
Most likely a spam bot will not recognize this as a legitimate email address. However, there are a few of these email harvesters that are programmed to read this pattern. Thus, this method may not be a hundred percent spam bot proof. Another solution that you may apply is to use a script that will scramble the address so that email harvesters will not recognize it but human beings will be able to.
For online marketers who maintain their own sales pages, you can use a form that your visitors could use and this will automatically be sent to your mail box. One distinct advantage of this method is that you can require your visitors to provide specific information otherwise their transaction will not be completed.
Aside from these simple ways that you can do, you still need to get a reliable internet security software that will further protect your system from spams. It is not ideal that you become complacent when it comes to dealing with these nuisances on the net. For all you know, they can cause your system to crash and eventually affect your online business.
Do not allow the worst to happen by doing the appropriate precautionary measures that will protect you, your business, and your clients as well. It always pays to computer security maintenance since it is the heart of your business on the net.
