Be Sincere When You Do Social Marketing

Tags: , , , ,

Social marketing has defined a smarter way of selling on the internet incorporating the online marketers’ social and marketing skills. Long before they realized that it is better to sell while doing some socializing, online marketers in the past were used to do hard selling. They used to advertise their products a lot by talking about it and its benefits to its target market. Oftentimes, it was just a one way communication from the seller to the buyer. It did not really encourage the participation of the customers which was later realized to be quite an “unhealthy” .

With social marketing these days, online marketers are learning how to mingle and communicate to their potential customers. Gone are the days when all the buying public could do was to listen to a lot of crappy sales pitches and read clichy advertisements. Online marketers nowadays are changing gears towards a better network marketing business thru social marketing. There are many social media sites present on the net such as Squidoo, Myspace, and Facebook. These web sites are designed for individuals to socialize with one another by building networks of friends. Attract more by signing up to social media sites.

In these sites you will meet new people who could not only be your prospective customers but your friends as well. Don’t just see these web sites as a venue for you to sell your products because there are so much more than you can gain from it. Long lasting relationships with people in your network of friends can give a big boost in having a long term business, too. If you want to succeed in social marketing, then you must know how to keep people. The first major assignment to do when you join these web sites is to create a really good, truthful, and interesting profile of yourself.

The profile must speak of yourself and what you do. Be a little more elaborative in giving out information since people who would view your page will surely appreciate your being “open”. This only goes to show that you don’t have those hidden agenda in joining social media sites. This will also attract more internet users to your page especially when they realize that they share the same interests with you. Treat social marketing not just as a marketing ploy but as an honest to goodness socializing act. Be as natural as you can be in meeting people online and be more personalize in your approach.

Don’t send out generic messages to people because this is a clear-cut selling approach. People will surely appreciate if you drop them personal messages on a first name basis. Make them as comfortable as possible just the way you also make friends. It is a well-known fact that people really get annoyed by salespersons because of the negative reputation established my most people in sales. Thus, try to avoid this one by making sure that you don’t send out spam mails to people in your network. Abide with the basics of social marketing so that you can gain the most benefits for your online business.

Be the person who can supersede that mere “salesperson” impression by being the kind who is not only after the money he can earn but more after the social good he can share.
