Now, there is this so called social bookmarking where you could tag the topics you think your friends will find interesting. It also allows your friends to rate them.
The topics having the highest ratings are found on the top of the social bookmarking site home page. This means that many internet users visit them. If you are an online marketer, this could be utilized to drive traffics into your website. In fact this is one of the easiest and cheapest way of generating traffics and ultimately, of making money online.

However, submitting more links into the social bookmarking sites is not enough to give you the optimum benefit. This is the common mistake of some online marketers. To have this benefit, take note of these few things. Submit topics that will arouse the readers’ curiosity, or something intriguing. You may visit various sites to know what topics will arouse their curiosity.
This is because users of every site usually have something in common. Writers call this thing as culture. Knowing their culture is very important because it will give you ideas on what topics to submit that would interest them. Find out what topics usually make it to the top of a particular site.
Is it human interest stories, politics, health and fitness or entertainment? Your topics must also be new, something that users don’t find in others. If yours is no different from theirs, do you think you would get their attention and vote for you? In other words, be the first to introduce interesting ideas or information.
This can be done by doing research. Find out what others have and think of something that they don’t have. Only then will you be different and intriguing. Lastly, social bookmarking is a community, only virtual. That’s why it is called as such. It is a community because people meet, communicate and share with others what they think.

If you do, members will notice that and will eventually drop you off by simply not voting your site. If you follow these things, you will be able to get your link to the top of the page and allow you to stay there for quite a long period of time.
These are only simple social bookmarking strategies, but will surely help you a lot in your objective of getting traffic to your site. Though simple and so basic, yet could cause your all efforts to fail. So do not take these things for granted. Many failed because they ignored the basics.
