Everybody who’s into online business knows that pay per click advertising is one good way of marketing your product. For one, it allows you to advertise it to many sites thus enabling you to reach out to more people. Plus, it enables you to advertise to a more targeted audience with the use of the right keywords.
However, it can be ineffective too if you miss out some important things. And one of these important things, if not the most important, is your knowledge of your product. Its importance in pay per click advertising cannot be taken for granted. Yet many overlooked and failed to consider this.

What they don’t know is that it could either make or break their pay per click advertising. You may ask, what’s the connection between two? If you just look closely, everything that makes up your pay per click advertising as whole such as the keywords, the landing page where your visitors clicking through your PPC ad will be directed, the copy, and so on, all springs from your product.
For instance, if you don’t know your product too well, you cannot create such relevant keywords. You cannot also design a good landing page that will attract your visitors to read through everything you say to convince them. Aside from that, you cannot also write such compelling copy. Every marketer knows how important it is to have a well written and compelling copy in getting a sale.
Most successful copy writers say that you should highlight the benefits of your offer. They also say that you must also highlight the features that set it apart from your competitors. This is important if you want to be ahead of your competitors. If you don’t know your product too well, you cannot create a well written and compelling copy.
You must not also overlook that product knowledge does not only involve knowing its good features but also its bad side. If you fail to see that it is of poor quality, you might be making a false claim in your ad which could ruin your pay per click advertising in the end.
Because no matter how good your landing page; no matter how compelling the copy of your sales page; and no matter how targeted your keywords are if you offer a totally different thing from what you’re claiming, chances are you’ll get so many product returns and you’ll have more cash outflow rather than inflows, not to mention the hassles of attending to all these returns.
It’s also not too far away that your product will just die a natural death because nobody would be buying it. And the worst effect is your ruined reputation and a futile attempt to develop goodwill with your customers. All these result to losses which is not in any way the goal of your pay per click advertising campaign.
So to get your most desired result in your pay per click advertising, it’s important that you know your product well. Study it first before you venture into any pay per click advertising and watch everything works the way you want it to be.
