Surely you have heard this statement over a hundred times that the money is on the list. Yes, many so-called gurus in internet marketing are saying that money is generated through your opt in list. How many of you really believe in this? Well, there is really an element of truth to it and indeed, many marketers had generated a lot of profits from their opt in list.

However, there is one primary keyword that these gurus missed to mention in their statement and that’s the word – quality. No matter how many your email subscribers are, if you have barely converted a sale from them, then there’s nothing to celebrate about or at least none just yet. There are certain things that you need to put into consideration before you can even monetize your opt in list.

One blunder that many internet marketers have committed was to easily jump into list building expecting money to pour once they have accumulated hundreds and thousands of email addresses. No, it doesn’t happen this way in reality. Internet marketers who successfully made sales conversions from their opt in list had definitely gone through a certain process of gaining the trust of their subscribers.

I mentioned trust and now, maybe you are wondering how come I mentioned it in the discussion. You have to understand that you are dealing with human beings and most of them are educated. People of this kind don’t easily give away their money to any internet marketer they hardly know.





Actually, you need to build a relationship with these people in your lists. Never expect them to buy from your instantly, but if they do, then you are such a lucky bloke! The point here is that, you must know how to take care of your opt in list. Do your best to give them the best quality of information through your weekly newsletters and free reports.

As an internet marketer, it will be a wise move for you to invest on tools that will automate your email marketing activities like an auto responder for example. Since this will be a regular activity, a reliable tool will surely alleviate the burden of doing all the writing and sending of emails manually.

Increasing your email subscribers is not an easy job unless you settle for those instant opt in list that you can buy (this one I absolutely discourage that you do). Going back to building your email lists, aside from fostering good relationships with people in your opt in list, you also need to do forum infiltration.

Make sure that you participate actively in forums so that more people in the industry will also get to know you. Don’t use forum threads as mere advertising pages because you might be banned for spamming. People will appreciate you more if you share valuable information and tips to them.

These online forums are good venues where you can actually subtly promote your website. Once you become active in it, links to your site will also be as perennial as grass in these forums. Thus, more people will get to visit your web site and even sign up in your opt in form.

Also, don’t over promote to your subscribers. That would be too annoying. Learn how to make subtle proposals and focus on benefits not on sales pitches alone. For profitable email lists, just keep in mind the aforementioned tips to ensure that you are on the right track.
