************************************************************

When you watch television
don't you often see the same
commercial being shown
almost one right after the
other - in the same break
period.

And don't you remember that
commercial more than any
other because of that fact.

In fact, don't you remember
things more simply because
you have been repeatedly
exposed to them?

The underlying theme running
across what we've talked
about so far is repetition.

This is because in marketing,
be it in the brick and mortar
world or in the internet based
one repetition is key.

I'll say it again: repetition
is key.

And why repeat everything,
you ask?

The simple answer would
be because people don't
tend to remember things
the first time around.

I mean do you?

If you say yes then I say
good for you and I envy
your memory.

But for a good number of us,
we can't really remember
anything that well unless
we are reminded of it.

And one way to remind
yourself of something is
to have it repeated over
and over and over again.

And how many times do you
need to be exposed to any
marketing system in order
for you to remember
anything?

Depending on who you ask
or which statistic you look
at, it can be as low as 7 or
as high as 30.

But notice that regardless
of the number, one thing is
pretty much constant: that
there is a need to repeat
something so more
exposures will result
in a sale - even just one.

So to get back to my earlier
question which I started to
answer before I got deviated:
why do you need to repeat
your message?

************************************************************

1) To repeat what I said earlier,
most people won't remember
something the first time they
are exposed to it.

Even the second.

Or the third.

They need to constantly see
it in order to act upon it.

And if I asked you what
things you remember and
why, chances are you will
tell me the only reason you
remember any of them was
because it was repeatedly
told to you.

Like your mom constantly
reminding you to always
brush your teeth after meals.

Those kinds of messages stick
because they were repeated
so often they become part of
your consciousness.

************************************************************

2) You need to repeat your
message because your
potential customers may
not yet be ready to act
the first time you sent
them your message.

Maybe the timing of your offer
was just a bad one for your
customer.

Maybe they just paid off
a debt so they have no
money to spare right
now.

Or they've just gotten back
from vacation and did not
see your message.

Or it could be that they simply
have too many things on their
mind right now - like paying
the bills, work and even
social obligations.

************************************************************

3. We only retain a small
percent of all the information
that we're exposed to.

By repeating your marketing
message over and over again,
not only do you enhance your
chances of catching the
customer in the "right" mood
to act upon your offer, but
you also increase the
likelihood that your offer
would be one of the small
percentage of information
that they will remember.

************************************************************

4) Your customers don't know
you enough to trust you yet.

Let's face it, for a majority
of your customers this is
probably the first time they
have seen any of your
messages.

This out of the number of
messages they get on a
daily basis.

They simply don't know you
enough to even consider any
of your offers.

By repeating your marketing
messages you build a link
with them even when they
are simply deleting your
messages if not reading
them.

Who knows?

Before long they may start
to get curious about your
messages and act upon
one of them.

The advantage is they already
remember your message in
their subconscious mind so
they know you somewhat to
trust you enough to take
you up on your offers.

It may take you a long time
but you got yourself a
customer.

************************************************************

And that, in a nutshell, is the
reason why you should repeat
your message.

It's not really so much for you
as it is for your customers.

Remember, to your customers
your marketing messages
aren't that important to them.

Specially when compared to
real life events.

At the same time you are
competing not just with
these real life events but
also with other internet
marketers vying for the
same customer.

To make these customers
come to you need to keep
in touch with them as often
as you can so they don't
forget you.

That's why they call it a
marketing campaign.

Because it is a series of
operations that is energetically
pursued to accomplish your
purpose - in this case get
your customer to act.
