But that's not really the right
question to ask.
Regardless of the type of
business one fundamental
question that needs to be
asked is this:
What motivates the target
market to buy?
This is the one question that

target market's motivation
to buy then you won't
succeed.
How will you be able to create
a marketing strategy if you
don't know the market you
are suppose to be marketing
to.

products with your target
market's motivations to

Understand this:

equal need."
Your target market's decisions
to buy will, in part be based
on their motivation rather
than need.
Let me explain it by way of

You need clothes in order
to protect yourself from
the elements.
This makes you decide to
wear clothes BUT, and this
is a very important "but", it
does not affect your decision
as to what type of clothing
to buy or where to get it from.
Given 5 shops that sells
clothes, you will buy from
one that meets your
expectations due to your
motivation - the quality of
the cloth used, the brand,
the chances of getting a
discount, or of even
meeting people.
The shop that matches
YOUR motivations gets
your business.
It's that simple.
As there are various customers
out there, they in turn have
various motivations for
purchasing something.
This includes but not limited
to such considerations as:
*their financial security
*their personal situation
*outside factors that come
into play
Once you understand this
you can then press the "hot
buttons" that turn your target
market on so that they buy
from you.
To do that you need to
find out what they really
want, and then, show
them how to get it.
And once you discover that
you still need to answer
these questions:
Will your target market
benefit from this product?
Will this provide solutions
to their problems?
Will this make their
lives better?
Will this contribute to
their success and well-
being?
Understanding your target
market is vital once you
go into product creation.
Profile your target market.
You ought to know their
interests, preferences,
problems, unresolved
issues that beleaguer
them, and other pertinent
information that will help
you know them well
Create your product
based on that profile.
Once you have that profile,
go ahead and start making
your product that answers
not only your target market's
needs but also their
motivations.
