Get Ready To Promote Your Website Using Keywords
Want to have your very own
website but balking at the
high cost of programmers?
Create your own website here.
Build your own website, your
own way, with search engine-
friendly pages in no time -
even without HTML knowledge.
************************************************************
But once you have your
website up and running
what next?
They say you need three
things to have success -
an in demand product, a
good site, and traffic.
The question you need to ask,
given that you have the other
2 covered is:
How can you get more visitors
to your website?
What can you do to stimulate
traffic?
************************************************************
Perhaps one of the most
important and inexpensive
way to promote your site
so that customers will visit
it is to rank high for your
preferred keywords on the
main search engines in
"organic" or "natural"
searches.
By "organic" or "natural" I
mean you not paying for
ads or something like that.
This is what you call "search
engine optimization," or
SEO for short.
Keyword Research is one of
the most important aspect
of owning your own website.
It is important to take note
that you must understand
what search keywords will
drive traffic to your website.
Being in the dark about this
will cause you to spend a
lot of time AND resources
creating content that will
not even drive customers
to your site.
In my case I use Google's
Keyword search tool.
It's easy to use.
Simply enter your most
common keyword.
It will then show you all
possible associated
keyword terms and even
the total number of
searches for those
keywords in a month.
And since most potential
customers start their search
using generic short terms,
then move on to longer more
detailed terms, you should
also choose your keywords
the same way.
That being said, it doesn't
mean you shouldn't just
pick every keyword you
see that has a high
number of searches.
I recommend focusing on the
keyword terms that will bring
in qualified customers to
your site.
What I mean is that you
should choose one or two
short (2 to 3 word) keyword
terms to focus on in your
website.
More importantly, you must
focus on finding the right long-
tail keywords (usually 4-5
words) to get the most
qualified customers.
What are long-tail keywords?
They are multi-phrase search
queries which customers use
on search engines to get to
your website.
These long-tail keywords are
much more targeted compared
to the shorter 2-3 word
keyword terms above.
Basically, long-tails are your
customer's specific need for
specific information.
At the same time long-tail
keywords lead to higher
conversions because
customers who use multi-
phrase search queries are
more likely to make purchases.
Also, long-tail keywords makes
it easier for your website to
rank higher since competition
for these long-tail keywords are
lower compared to the shorter
1-3 word keyword terms.
And this will result in higher
traffic to your website.

But once you have your traffic
it is also important they not
"bounce" off because they
don't like the way your site
looks.
Don't lose your customer's
just when they are already
there in front of your
doorstep.
