Don't let your sales copy lose you customers
and sales.

If you have a content driven site the importance
of articles is immeasurable.
This is because they can affect the traffic
that comes to your site so they dictate the
success or failure of your site.
Successful website operators and owners
will often include articles that work to not
only give their site credibility but to also help
garner sales and thus, profits.
Articles have been known as the driving force
behind driving traffic to any website.
They are a factor in giving a site high rankings
in search engine result pages.
And as we all know, the higher a site ranks
the bigger slice of the traffic flow pie it gets.
With the huge number in traffic inflow, there's
a higher potential for sales which means
higher incomes resulting in higher profits.
That being said, it doesn't mean you go all
out and stuff your site with any article you
can get your hand on.
To be effective the articles you use must
meet certain requirements.
That is to say, they should include certain
things that will not only attract attention but
that which can help your site.
A well written article will catch the eyes and
interest of your customers and keep them
coming back for more. Not only that, they
would also recommend your site to others.

Keywords and Keyword Phrases
An article must be centered on the keywords
and keyword phrases of your market.
As website visitors go, there are those who
are merely browsing but a good number who
are actually out looking for something specific.
For the latter types, unless they know which
website to go to, most of them will do a search
using a number of search engines available.
They do this by entering the key word that
they perceive the thing they are looking for
falls under.
So if they are looking for a tax lawyer in the
Manhattan, New York City area they may
enter the search terms "tax lawyer Manhattan"
in the search tool box.
Thus if you have an article that talks about
tax lawyers in Manhattan your article may
show up in the search engine results page.
The important thing is that you have an article
that has the keywords that are related to
your site.
In my example, if you are a lawyer that handles
tax related cases in Manhattan then your
articles should be about tax law and all that
stuff with keywords that match what customers
may use to search for and find you.

Keyword Density
The keywords and keyword phrases that
you have should be used within your articles.
An article must have good keyword density
in order for a search engine to “feel” its presence.
Typically, articles should at least have 2%
to 5% keyword density in their content for
search engines to find and rank the site in
their search results.
Keyword density is the number of times a
keyword or keyword phrase is used in an
article and varies depending on the total
number of words in the article itself.
An effective article must have a keyword
density that is not too high or too low from
the recommended percentage above.
This is because if the density is high, not
only will the article read incomprehensible
the search engines may flag is as spamming
and will not even list it at all.
On the other side of the spectrum, a low
density may not even be read by the search
engine and thus, won't be included in their
results page..

Good Article Content
Churning out and posting articles with keywords
is not enough.
The article(s) you write or post must also
be good reading - that is to say they must
have quality content in them to make them
worth it.
Good quality articles must be able to entertain
people as well as provide them with the good
information that they need to take care of
their needs and/or questions.
Articles should be written well with proper
spelling and good grammar.
If you want people to trust you, make your
work good and well thought out. A good and
well written article will give you credibility
and boost your reputation as an expert in
your chosen field or topic.
As more and more people believe in you
they will be more open to your products
and/or services.

Linking Articles
Lastly, ff you're going to submit articles to
article directories such as Ezine Articles
or to other sites similar to yours don't forget
to include a back-link to your site.
As part of the brief description on who you
are put a link to your site. That way if the
reader likes your article and would like more
of the same they can go to your site and find
it there - instant traffic and potential sales.

Done correctly a good article can go a long
way in helping your site rank up in the search
engine results page.
But just because they like your site does
not necessarily mean they will be totally
convinced to buy your product and/or services
- not if your sales copy sucks.
