What's bounce.
Well if we're talking about a ball then it's the
ball's properties to spring away from impact.
When it comes to your website then bounce
is your customers who visit a page on your
site and then leave without looking at any
other pages.
And usually they don't even stay long enough
on that first page.
And if you're an internet marketer having a
high bounce rate does not bode well for you
and your online business.
That being said, there are ways for you to
lower or minimize your website's bounce rate.
Let me ask you this: Why do people go online?
Isn't it because they have a problem or question
that they want solved.
It means they have a need for something and
they are looking for a site that can give them
that something whatever it may be.
So your site, especially the home page should
say that you have what your customers are
looking for.
This means that you should have an quick
and engaging opening piece be it a headline
or a paragraph that specifically answers your
customer's needs.
Once you your customers hooked with the
fact that you have what they want you then
give them the information about your product
and how it can help them solve their problem
or needs.
When you do this make sure that only the
most relevant and valuable features and benefits
of the product are included.
Weave them as part a story so it's easier for
them to read and picture.
Basically give them valuable sensory information.
At the same time make it simple for your
customers.
Don't overload your site with every conceivable
link or ad or flash theme there is.
It's not good marketing sense and it only
makes your site cheesy and suspicious.
Make sure the important items are on top
where customers can get to them first.
Also make sure your call-to-action is in a
prominent position on your site.
This way after reading the important information
your customers are asked to quickly do
something else something else happens.
Also make sure your site has no errors when
your customers click on a link going to your
site.
While this may be harder to control but do
try to make sure there are no errors.
And make sure to improve your page's loading
time.
If it takes a while for your site's pages to load
then it's more likely your customers may not
wait.
Will you be able to totally remove customer
bounce?
No and anyone who says otherwise is talking
hot air.
Will you be able to minimize bounce?
Yes, that is possible.
It's just a matter of tweaking your site to get
the most out of it.
Use yourself as a guide.
If you won't like your own page and will click
out of it then so will most of your customers.
