Your first step would be to make a list of possible items that you can get rid of from your possession but might be needed by other people. This is just a very basic exercise. Pretend that you will be selling some of your old stuff or collectibles that you are willing to let go already.

From the information that you can get, you will at least have an idea on whether what you have on your list has the potential of being a hit on eBay. There are plenty of online shopping sites where you can join as a seller but why eBay? It is very competitive out there.
