What’s in a name? A lot! Whether you are a professional or a business person, making a name in your field is a big thing. For example, a doctor who has an established name in the field of medicine usually has more patients coming in to his clinic. Thus, he earns more.
So what does it have to do with you as an online affiliate marketer or an aspiring one? As an affiliate you surely have a website, a blog site or both. And generating web site traffic must be a priority. I’m pretty sure that you know that you need to get traffic to your website or to your blog site in order for you to succeed in this business.

So if your site is well known, you apparently have many visitors. Thus, you have more chances to sell the products you’re selling as an affiliate. Just make sure that you are getting a targeted traffic. What I mean here when I said “making a name” simply means gaining popularity in your niche.
I bet, like the doctor in this example, you also want to build your name in your niche, become popular, and make people buy from you eventually. You can be the “popular guy or gal” that you want to be if you work hard for it. Every successful person had gone through hardships and had taken sacrifices in order to achieve the success that they are enjoying now.
So if you feel that you are too lazy to work hard, better brush aside this thought because you will not make it to the top or even stay in this business for long. Such kind of thinking is for losers. Now, going back to being an internet marketer, you need to write articles as a means to attract visitors.
Actually, articles are one of the best techniques in building your name in this line of business and ultimately in generating web site traffic. Make this then as your opportunity to build your name. How? The answer is quite easier said than done, but you can do it. Firstly, you have to be sincere.
You have to be sincere in the articles that you write. You should not simply write them for the sake of driving traffic to your site, but also to help solve their problem or give them the information they need. Avoid misleading titles and keywords which are not actually discussed in your article.
If you do this, you will look like you fooled your readers. Once they found out that the content of your article is irrelevant, they would simply navigate away from your site and not return. What’s more, they might tell it to others through word of mouth or forum sites.
It will be such a bad thing to happen to you. People might avoid you forever. Secondly, be credible. Write only the topics which have factual basis. Do not write articles which have no truth at all, but are only made to arouse curiosity. You may find this effective at first, but when people find out that there’s no truth to it, they’ll no longer trust you.
Worst, they would not also trust the product you are promoting. On the other hand, if you’re sincere and credible, people would trust you and will keep coming back to your site and even promote you to others. If this continues, you’ll eventually make a big name as an online marketer.
So if you want to build that big name and be on top in generating website traffic, be sincere and credible. In this way, you can attract a lot of new and unique visitors.
